ALIGNER Final Event @ KU Leuven on September 26
We are thrilled to share the successful culmination of the ALIGNER project at the Centre for IT & IP Law at KU Leuven on September 26th, which brought together a remarkable gathering of participants from law enforcement, policy-making, research, and industry. This event sparked critical discussions on the implications and potential of artificial intelligence in the field of law enforcement, examining contemporary trends and methods for evaluating the impact of AI technologies. Moreover, we investigated both research and policy recommendations aimed at addressing the intricate needs, opportunities, and challenges presented by AI’s dual function in criminal activities and law enforcement strategies. It was invigorating to expand our dialogue beyond the ALIGNER project, engaging in valuable interactions with other leading initiatives, such as our sister projects STARLIGHT_H2020 and popAI, along with AP4AI and TRANSCEND under Horizon Europe. We extend our sincere appreciation to all participants whose contributions made this event a notable success, as we collectively shape the future of AI in law enforcement.
Stay tuned for the publication of the final project results in the coming weeks!
